RE provokes challenging questions about the meaning and purpose in life. This is used to explore what people believe and what difference this makes to how people live, so that pupils can make sense of religion and reflect on their own ideas and ways of living. At Girnhill Infant School we aim to provide children with a curriculum that will engage, inspire, challenge and encourage pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to answer challenging questions, explore differing values, traditions and practices in our multi-cultural society. We will teach subject specific Religious Education lessons enabling all children to learn the knowledge and skills required to be a ‘person of faith’. Our RE curriculum will teach pupils to comeback prejudice, prepare pupils for adult life, employment and life-long learning.
